The ride on Saturday 12th October has been designated as a Bike Friday special - although all cycles are welcome, we would like to get as many Bike Fridays there as possible. The equivalent Birdy special in April produced 12 Birdys, so it would be nice to exceed that number. On the August ride, Fridays outnumbered all the other machines put together! [11/08/2002]</p> <p><font size="4" color="#000080">Hanz Scholz at CycleFest 2002</font><br> We were delighted that Hanz managed to get to CycleFest in Lancaster at the beginning of August. He gave a very interesting presentation on the background to the development of Fridays, and provided lost of interesting information on the current models. It is basically a Bike Friday Pocket Llama with "a dynamic duo: the <a href="http://www.actiontec.evisionsite.com/Pro_Shock.html">Action Tec Front Suspension Fork </a>unit AND <a href="http://www.thudbuster.com/">Thudbuster Quad Pivot seatpost.</a>". Meet 10:00am onwards at Food Hall, Designer Outlet Village (10 minute walk from Swindon Station - exit station foot-tunnel, turn right) for coffee and a chat, 11:30 for a cycle-path ride and pub lunch. First ride is this coming Saturday, 20th April 2002. [15/04/2002]</p> </b> <p><font color="#000080" size="4">15th & 16th June - Bike Friday Rides from Harrogate</font><font SIZE="2"><br> </font>Steve and Ali Mundie are arranging rides on 15th and 16th June - although these are primarily for Bike Fridayists, other folders are welcome too. "The Saturday run is approximately 50 miles from Harrogate to Masham for lunch at the Black Sheep Brewery. It's not very flat but it's not dreadfully steep either. The Sunday run is about 55 miles from Harrogate to Benningborough (the National Trust property for a wander round the gardens or the house and lunch). As Benningborough is near York, this route is fairly flat once we get away from Harrogate." We hear from Bike Friday that there is a discount available to buyers to offset a part of the shipping cost, namely Ł79 for a tandem and Ł49 for a single machine. These discounts apply with any accessories ordered and shipped at the same time as the bicycle.
