A to B Bicycle Cover

The Bike Friday bag is a robust way of carrying your Friday around and concealing it on public transport. However, I find it both bulky and heavy to carry, particularly if I am not sure if it is going to be needed. I have to fit the rear carrier just to be able to carry the bag with me! I also find it time consuming to unroll the bag, unzip it, fiddle the bike in, zip it up etc. And I find it difficult to carry the bag with the bike in it.

If you have the same problem, why not think of a simple cover which easily drops over the whole bike concealing it when on public transport, but which is much lighter and will fit in a pocket when folded up? Jane Henshaw of A to B has been producing these for Bromptons for some while, and she supplied one to Ray Racy for his Pocket Rocket - a larger version of the one produced for the Brompton. She has just made one for my NWT (and Pocket Rocket), and I’m delighted. Rolled up it's only a fraction of the size and weight of the official Friday one, and is easy to pack and put in a pocket. It drops easily over the bike in under 10 seconds - no fiddling with zips. A hole in the top allows me to pick the bike up by its frame within the cover, and its much easier to carry it like this (I put a bungee round the frame and wheels to hold it together. It doesn't provide much protection from knocks etc to the bike, but that's not what it is intended for. I think it’s great. The price is very reasonable too.
