There have been a number of detail changes in the range since our last newsletter, and some less welcome price increases. The SatRDay recumbent has also been launched, though Ive yet to see one in this country. For the latest information on the model range and prices, contact Valley Cycles on 01933 778170, or see the web site in the USA for model details http://www.bikefriday.com.
A new development is that Green Gear have now opened a direct buying shop on their web site, covering accessories, tools and apparel, but not bikes. The shipping prices are of course rather high for UK owners. One interesting item included in the original range of accessories was a new LowBoy rear carrier, which carried the load lower and also allowed the folded/disassembled bike to be fitted in the case without removing the rack. The price quoted was fairly high, and unfortunately it is not now listed pending some modifications as it apparently could cause problems with trailers.
Another new development is The YAK, an email mailing list for discussion amongst enthusiasts. You can find more details of how to subscribe to The YAK at the Bike Friday web site, http://www.bikefriday.com.
August 20-22 will see the Bike Friday Homecoming event at Eugene, hosted of course by Green Gear themselves. You can find more information about the event and how to register on their web site, or write to Green Gear at the usual address (see page 4 of this newsletter).
